Today my female founder is Chiara Magni. Chiara is a finger painter based in Italy.

I was incredibly excited to interview Chiara after seeing her amazing artwork and she didn’t disappoint.

In this article, she shares how she has created a successful business out of her artwork and has a piece of fantastic advice for future female entrepreneurs.

I feel quite energized after completing this article and hope you feel the same after reading!

INTRODUCTION

PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF AND THE BUSINESS YOU STARTED?

I am a professional painter from Italy. This is my love, my passion, sometimes my obsession and it is my full-time job.

I’ve always been a painter my whole life, tried and worked with all of the possible mediums up to the point where I’ve realized that OIL Paint was the best medium for me.

All of my paintings are done with very thick oil on canvas, applied generously on the canvas to give a very thick and textured look to the work.

The majority of my paintings are FINGER PAINTED, it means that I use my FINGERS instead of any tools like brushes or spatula. With my fingers, I can create something quite unique.

THE JOURNEY SO FAR

HOW DID YOU COME UP WITH YOUR BUSINESS IDEA?

Since I was a little kid, painting and drawing have always been my main passion and “my kinda thing”.

So as an adult, I’ve decided to at least give it a try and make it my business. It was NOT easy at ALL and took me a lot not to give up.

I’ve kept on painting and worked in the direction of improving my art and my paintings. All this was done while promoting my art on social networks and selling it.

The first sale was 5 years ago to a girl from Canada. I was so excited, it was something new for me, something I’ve never experienced before, the feeling that my art was REAL, that REAL people wanted to own my ART, to use my ART to make their homes look better… well something that before that day was only a dream.

Now I do have collectors all over the WORLD, in Italy, Europe, USA, New Zealand, Israel and South Arabia, saying that I feel blessed is an understatement.

PLEASE DESCRIBE THE PROCESS OF LAUNCHING YOUR BUSINESS.

Well, it is something fully hand-made and something that I’ve done on my own without any help. I’ve begun on a table in a small room in my home, then I’ve moved to a bigger place that was just a basement, and now as we speak I am moving to an actual studio 5 times bigger!

So I wouldn’t call it a “launching” but more like a “make it happen with hard work”

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR BIGGEST ACHIEVEMENT AND YOUR BIGGEST CHALLENGE ALONG THE WAY?

Biggest Challenge: I have achieved a lot with my ART. I guess the best way to describe it is “I’m living my dream”.

Being able to make what was just a dream into a business, you know…being able to actually buy things thanks to my paintings.

Doing that thing that you love, makes you so happy that is not “work” it is not a “job” it is making your dream coming true!

Biggest Achievement: The challenges are always there and never-ending. Funny enough I can now tell that all of the barriers and stops where self-created and not so real but all in my mind.

The bigger challenge was giving myself time, enough time to understand that everything was going in the right direction, to keep up and not giving up, enough time to really get in touch with the inner self and just put it on canvas!

HOW DO YOU PROMOTE YOUR BUSINESS?

On all of the possible social networks… I’ve even opened a TikTok Account… hahaha but that is just to be silly and have fun, not to promote my ART as much as I do on the other socials.

WHAT IS YOUR VISION FOR THE FUTURE OF THE BUSINESS?

It is increasing on a monthly and even on a daily basis, collectors are contacting me from all over the World and I do have a quite long waiting list of commissioned pieces to complete.

I am always a dreamer but also very down to heart, I take every step at a time and I make sure to be thankful for everything good that happens.

RECOMMENDATIONS & FINAL THOUGHTS

PLEASE RECOMMEND ANY RESOURCES AND TOOLS THAT YOU USE TO RUN YOUR BUSINESS.

My website is always up to date with all of the available and sold paintings. I have also a blog on my website where I share unique content and curiosity about my paintings.

I post daily on my Instagram and Facebook Pages.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO OTHER WOMEN WHO WANT TO START THEIR OWN BUSINESS?

You need to SEE, ENVISION and FOCUS on what you want to achieve, then work on it like CRAAAZY!

It is not easy and nobody will help you for free, you need to fight and never give up, but never stop having fun, HAVE a LOT of FUN while you make your dream come true.

Big thanks to our supporters ❤️
